This image is almost 2 years old, from November 2006. Edited today (14/9/2008) with Adobe Lightroom 2 – I didn’t even have the first version of that program back then. This park was on 500m from our front door, back in the days we lived in Brussels. To be honest, there are times that I miss living back there. But don’t worry, overall, I’m happier back here in Ghent :-)
Thanks for all comments on the previous image – like I said the original image was shot by my wife, so congrats to her ! (and I’ll take some of the credit for the editing work ;-) )

There’s a little story behind this image : this morning (Monday the 4th of February 2008) I had to meet my colleagues at 6h30am to go to Lille (France) for work, but I was mistakenly convinced that it was at 5h30am… Result : I had to wait for one hour in the cold, rain, wind… very comfy ;-)
While I was waiting, I entered the parking lot at work and took the opportunity to take some pictures without cars ! And this is the result :-)

Well yes, another one from the same series :-)
Just a little remark about this one…
1+1 is indeed 2 – BUT … they are forgetting the third community in Belgium : the German speaking people !

- Aperture: ƒ/8
- Camera: Canon EOS 30D

Well, we finally got ourselves a temporary (yes, not the final one – don’t try to understand) government – lead by… the previous prime minister… Vive la Belgique ;-)
Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, there was a big manifestation in Belgium – called “I want you for Belgium”. I’m sure you heard about it, and if you haven’t – just google it :-)
This image was shot during that manifestation…

They had their meal, a little desert, talked a bit about this and thats and then… it was time to go home. Well, at least for some of them. Part of the group was up for another drink at the bar ! ;-)
Tech info : same workflow as the previous images, nothing new here
About the Flickr plugin I’m testing : this is a home-made plugin for pixelpost. At the moment, it reads the tag database field of an image. The tag field has to contain the Flickr id of the photo. If there are any comments, they are fetched and displayed. If you are interested in testdriving it too, just send me a mail (see address on the bottom of this page). Attention, it’s messy code and it won’t work if you already use the tag field for something else.
- Aperture: ƒ/1.8

- ISO: 400

For those who tried to access this blog in the past 24h without result, we’re back ;-) I signed up for an account at dreamhost and I’m in the progress of moving everything towards their servers. At the moment, only this website is already moved, the others will follow !
Well, they didn’t pick the restaurant you saw in the previous photo, but picked another one instead. So there they were, comfortable sitting, relaxing and enjoying their meal…
… while I was standing outside in the rain :-(
:-)
Tech info : shot with my 50mm lens at f1.4 – b&w conversion in lightroom (as usual) – resize and a little bit of sharpening in photoshop (as usual too ;-) )
I am now testing the integration of comments on flickr in pixelpost, everything seems to work quite well, only the connection to Flickr is a bit slow when there are a lot of comments. Please let me know if you experience any problems
